Dawsonville Hotels

Because Dawsonville is located near Lake Lanier in the heart of North Georgia’s vacationland, many different kinds of lodging are available. The Best Western Dawson Village Inn at 76 North Georgia Avenue in Dawsonville, (706) 216-4410, is a hotel with 62 rooms and a heated indoor swimming pool, a hot tub, an exercise room and a business center. The Comfort Inn Dawsonville at 127 Beartooth Parkway, (706) 216-1900, is another hotel with 50 regular guest rooms, king size rooms with sofa bed sleepers, suites with whirlpool baths, and an outdoor swimming pool.

For people who prefer more rustic accommodations, Under the Hemlock at 5545 Highway 52, 706-265-4603, has private campsites and deluxe cabins for rent. The cabins feature king size beds, refrigerators, heating and air conditioning, and outdoor picnic tables. The campground also contains a bathhouse with hot showers, a store and an ice cream shop.

Lodging within 10 miles of Dawsonville

The 1,027 acre R-Ranch in the Mountains is located about 10 miles from Dawsonville at 65 R-Ranch Road in Dahlonega, (706) 864-6444, and it contains campsites, RV sites and rental cabins, an Olympic size swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, a lake for fishing, a horse corral and miles of riding trails. Another country vacation resort near Dawsonville is the Yahoola Lodge at 1808 Highway 19 North, (770) 888-4920. The Yahoola Lodge has 3 guest rooms and a mountain cabin for rent, and it is situated on 23 acres of land with hiking trails and a river for fishing, swimming and gold panning.

Amicalola Falls State Park contains 24 tent, trailer and RV campsites, 14 fully equipped cottages, and the 56-room Lodge & Conference Center, which is a huge 4-story building with beautiful mountain views from every room. Amicalola Falls State Park also contains the Len Foote Hike Inn with 20 bunk rooms and a Sunrise Room that doubles as a library and game room. Len Foote Hike Inn is the only publicly owned backcountry lodge in Georgia and guests must hike 5 miles to reach it. The trail leading to the Len Foote Hike Inn begins at the Amicalola Falls Park Visitors Center and it takes most people from 2 to 4 hours to complete the hike.
